I understand how to set it properly, but my original calibration is set to this incorrect dist timing.
I cant even get it running good enough to get it to the tuner.

Re: Please help with new distributor install
yeah well my car ran fine before this, and all Im trying to do is match the old distributor placement to the new one. The old setup was 0deg on Smanager is 15BTDC on the fly The new distributor reads 10BTDC on the Smanager when its 15BTDC on the wheel so the timing is 10 deg out right? I should be a...

Please help with new distributor install
Hey team I just installed a new distributor on a vehicle with an S300. And Im having problems getting it aligned correctly. So here goes. The old distributor started showing cam sensor malfunction. Ok upgrade to a new one and fix it. The old distributor has marks on it so I can line it up with what ...

Re: S300 distributor replacement question
Ok got it fixed to 15deg mark on flywheel and Hondata. All good there. But now I’m noticing some lean conditions on my wideband..?? How will changing the dist affect the tuning? I assume my hondata tuner adjusted the old dist the same way.......

Re: S300 distributor replacement question
can you set Hondata to read 0deg in the set timing drop down menu, set your dist. and timing light (non-dial back) to 0deg-TDC on the flywheel, lock it in. And then run the motor and check the timing on the flywheel with the light to see if it matches what hondata is saying in my sensor list? Like i...

Re: S300 distributor replacement question
It isnt an adjustable timing light, its just the old plain jane that has no options or features.

Re: S300 distributor replacement question
So I’ve done this all. The car runs. But when I froze the timing on Smanager it freezes it at 16BTDC, but when I’m adjusting my distributor I cant get it turned to the 15deg mark on my flywheel. Just the TDC mark. So I adjusted the Smanager to freeze at 0BTDC and set the timing light to TDC mark on ...

Re: S300 distributor replacement question
ok so starting it up with the new distributor in whatever random position until I get the light going isnt going to cause any problems? The distributor only times about 10deg I think? This wouldnt cause any damage to the motor you think?

Re: S300 distributor replacement question
So you set that to 0 BTDC or just TDC, in the Smanager with the car online and running. Then turn the distributor to match your timing light flashes at the TDC mark on your flywheel? Where do you set the distributor for initial startup? just anywhere? I am installing a new style distributor from a d...

S300 distributor replacement question
So I have an S300 running on a 90 Prelude, the distributor is on it's way out, do I have to do anything special when I install the new one? Obviously time it with a timing light but how does that interact with the S300? Do I just it properly to TDC #1 on the flywheel and all is good? I know the prog...

Re: Please help with ridiculously troublesome idle
have you taken it back to the tuner to recalibrate the changes made to the intake? drastic changes like usually makes it run differently. remember, it was tuned for the air intake you were using before and not this one. more airflow needs retune and your engine will now suck in more air and if its ...

Re: Please help with ridiculously troublesome idle
New aftermarket IACV or OEM? I've had bad experience with aftermarket ones, they tend to not really do a whole lot in terms of feeding additional air to the engine. The valve is also more of an idle stabilizer than something that can raise it enough to get the car to fast idle which is why the mech...

Re: Please help with ridiculously troublesome idle
is the IAC bolted directly to the intake manifold or is it remote mounted? I have run into problems with those throttle bodies in the past. Map sensor is mounted upside down which can cause moisture to build up in the sensor. The port that feeds the IAC air is smaller than an OEM throttle body (I h...
