Re: KPro / KManager requests

It would be nice if it would be possible to datalog/display the idle valve 'commanded' values (not sure if it has some feedback, probably not..) to help debugging issues with idling or overrun vacuum issues that might be related to the valve control. The whole idle valve control seems to be a bit of...

Re: KPro / KManager requests

Kmanager datalog processing suggestion: How about a 'knock overlay' display on the ignition tables similar to the fuel trim overlay so it's easy with data from longer datalog runs to see at a glance where and how close together in the map cells with knocks still occur and how many were registered in...

Re: kmanager disconnection

Some pics of what I used. The USB hub I used to get it working stable and at the moment a temporary fitting with some cable ties. Will be doing a bracket to fit it permanently onto the ECU mount and off the floor/bottom so it's out of the way of any luggage moving around and the connectors can't get...

Re: kmanager disconnection

Sure!

It's quite cramped in the back of the car around the ECU and I need to create some real brackets and such to finalise and fixate the setup, but I'll try to snap some pics and upload 'em here..

Bye, Arno.

Re: KPro / KManager requests

The P02 voltage for the PRA was divided by 4. I've fixed that and hidden the current sensor as you suggested for PRA datalogs. It's indeed correct now in the datalogs done with the laptop and cycles nicely between 0-1V. However, any datalogs made with the ECU to the on-board Kpro flash storage and ...

Re: kmanager disconnection

Had a similar issue with my KproV3. Problem in my situation is that the engine is not in a Honda chassis, but in a Lotus Elise and the ECU is mounted in the luggage area behind the engine. To get an USB cable inside the passenger cabin on my LHD car I had to use about a 4M/12ft cable. I did use a he...

Re: ignition timing

i found this morning that it happens mainly (or only) under light engine load. . .once i accelerate as if i want to over take i dont feel this happening. That was the same in my case. No problems when actually acceleratng, but at light loads and steady cruise it would 'stutter' sometimes. Ignition ...

Re: ignition timing

That's usually the acceleration smoothing retard kicking in. It has a very distinctive pattern. The algorithm inside the ECU can be very/too sensitive in somes cases, so it kicks in even at very tiny rpm/throttle changes, especially if you have modified the engine or are running stiffer engine mount...

Re: battery issues

what could be that went bad in that alternator? Sounds like the alternator voltage regulator may be dying or it's simply not able anymore to provide the required amps to run the cooling fan for some reason and the voltage drops down to (almost) the battery level. Does the situation improve (when th...

Re: KPro / KManager requests

Generic feature request: Revision number inclusion in KAL filename with auto-increment so each consecutive 'save' of a modified calibration doesn't overwrite a file but creates a new one with a version bumped. Could be useful for being able to 'roll-back' to a certain calibration after modification...

What additional/optional outputs does a PRA ECU support?

Having read the whole manual a few times it's obvious that a lot of I/O options are 'not supported' on the PRA compared to the PRB ECU (eg. nitrous, etc.) Turning this around: I'm just wondering if anyone has a list of what (switched) outputs are available on a PRA ECU? Not trying to do anything com...

Re: KManager V3.2.2 (beta)

After upgrading from Kmanager 3.2.0 to the latest beta 3.2.2 (Win7 Starter/32bit on a Netbook) it's no longer possible to download the copy of the calibration stored on the K-proV3 board itself (not from the ECU) using the K-pro information window. This works normally again with Kmanager 3.2.3 whic...

Re: Nitrous output wont trigger

Not sure if things changed, but here:

http://hondata.com/kmanager.html

It states at the end of the 'Nitrous' section: "The nitrous feature will not work on the PRA, PRC or PRD ECU's."

And you have a PRA, so....

Bye, Arno.
