Re: surging rolling idle

My friend Matt did a nice write up about diagnosing this problem. It may be a coincidence that it started when you went to a newer version of the hondata software. The link below should help you determine if it is mechanical or not. http://honda-tech.com/showthread.php?t=1979500&highlight=idle+s...

Re: surging rolling idle

This is a typical symptom of a FITV that needs to be adjusted. There is a piece in the FITV that can come unscrewed and will cause the problem you are describing.

Re: surging rolling idle

So the idle surging only occurs while moving? When you come to a stop the surging stops?

Re: erratic miss after start up

I replaced the vacuum lines running to the MAP sensor yesterday and have not experienced the problem again. I will put an update if the problem occurs again.

erratic miss after start up

-1995 Honda Prelude SE -p75-s300 -GM 3 bar map sensor, RC 550 cc injectors, PLX wideband I am getting strange jerky output from the motor just after startup at very light load while driving around my parking lot. It feels like the motor is missing. The behavior is captured beginning around the 1:23 ...

I am having odd behavior with the boost solenoid as well. So is the correct wiring to have the striped end of the diode connected to the +12v or the ECU?

I am taking advantage of the s200 to s300 upgrade promotion. I was wondering if any one can comment on the turn around time once the ecu arrives at hondata? The form says 2-3 days but I was wondering how accurate this is. I am also curious about what hondata does as far as testing the ecu before shi...

I thought it was tuned with re3 but I cannot be sure. Is it any hint that I have to change the file extension from ".bin" to ".re4" to have smanager open the file? Thanks for the help.

binary file corrupt?

I pulled the prom chip (AT29c256) from my p75 ecu to read the contents so I would have a backup of the tune. After downloading the information I saved the information in a binary format (see attached). I then proceeded to burn a new chip (SST27sf512). I have tried both the old chip and the new chip ...

My tuner past away about one year ago. The car was tuned about 5 years ago and I am pretty sure he was using re3 at the time. If this is the case should I be able to access the information on the prom using a burner and try loading it into s-manager?

So the link you provided makes it sound like upgrading a v3 file should be no problem but it does not address v4 files? Is the only way to figure out if the tune was done in re3 or re4 is to try and access the information on the prom using a burner/reader? The info in the link is minimal so any elab...

s200 tune upgrade to s300

I am interested in upgrading from my current s200 setup to an s300 unit but I want to keep the tune I currently have for now. To determine if I can take the tune from my s200 to the s300 do I just need a chip burner/reader? Would the order of operations be: 1. pull the prom out of my current s200 eq...

The serial number on my s200 is: s200-3017 I do not have the cable so I will have to get back to you about the serial on that. Is it true that having the special Hondata usb-serial cable is part of the security and is absolutely necessary to use RE4? A keyspan type adapter will not work with RE4? Th...

RE4 license stored in hondata usb-serial cable?

My car was tuned a few years ago using romeditor3. A friend of mine has the following and I am interested in buying so that I can tune my s200 (boost and datalogging enabled): 1. romulator 2. hondata usb-serial cable 3. burn2 chip programmer (moates.net) He did not mention whether or not he has a CD...
