Re: Top speed limiter
Not really sure what happened but of course after waiting nearly 2 years to ask about this here, it started working. I was going to datalog the event and as I approached 138, it just kept climbing all the way till I hit the end of the road at 172mph. Not sure what I did or changed but it works. Than...

Re: Top speed limiter
If they cannot be used, how can it cause undesired issues?...What type of issues exactly, please elaborate? Random ignition retard, rev limits. Would/could these symptoms occur even if there is no 1-5 volt input to the ELD circuit on the ECM? Just trying to clarify what you mean by random. Or is th...

Re: Top speed limiter
If you don't have traction control then you cannot use the traction control option and enabling it will cause you to have undesired issues. If they cannot be used, how can it cause undesired issues?...What type of issues exactly, please elaborate? How exactly are you reaching these speeds? What do ...

Re: Top speed limiter
I'm using the latest Beta version. Can you give us the exact version number? It's 2.4.2.0 On a different note, in the help file it says that the traction control options will not be displayed until the module is plugged in first. However, I noticed that the options are present and able to be modifi...

I'm using the latest Beta version.
If I'm not mistaken, it's around 136 or 138 that it cuts.

Top speed limiter
Having problems changing my top speed limiter from the stock settings. I've tried using realistic numbers for both the engine speed and the mph as well as exaggerated figures (highest allowed numerical input) to no avail. What could I be doing wrong here?
Thanks

Re: VSA - What does it do?
I'm really surprised that you can even break ring lands on forged pistons. We've had all sorts of things go wrong with too much boost and nitrous, like melting the head and breaking the block in half, but have never broken ring lands. What material were they? How thick is the piston top? How much m...

Max ignition retard
I've noticed that highest (numerically speaking) you can go in the ignition tables is 10 degrees for retard. Is this set by Honda themselves or you guys (Hondata)? If by you guys, anyway this can be made to go even higher? I've been doing some experimenting here lately with overrun and would like to...

MAP reading at WOT on NA motor
I've noticed here recently that my MAP readings at WOT seem to be in a constant state of fluctuation, especially when viewed under higher resolution. Now to begin, I am very aware of plenum pressure pulses created by both acoustic sound waves as well as the disruption of air flow caused by the openi...

Re: Injector Overrun Manifold Pressure Settings
I'd just do a single run in 3rd and then set the pressures about 3 kpa below the value you see. There's no real disadvantage settings the pressures low - the injectors will still cut on overrun based on TPS. Would choosing the "overrun throttle opening enabled" option provide the ECM with...

Re: Timing
I too am at 27* at the top of high cams and went up as high as 28.5* with very little power gained. So I backed it back down to 27 and will stay here until I get my PCD's and aftermarket j-pipe installed. Then I'll see about peeling back another .5* to 1* of timing afterwards. No knock was ever seen...

Re: Hondata Harness & ECU Install
The reason the dealer can't figure it out is because it's considered a custom install which means their service manual tells them nothing about what needs to be done to make it work. This ALSO means, it requires a person or shop of special skills and knowledge to properly execute the job. Maybe if y...

Curiosity concerning the use of Hondata's 4 bar MAP
Had a thought the other day while tuning and figured I'd try and gain some clarity here... My previous engine was boosted but current engine isn't (yet). I'm using the Hondata 4 bar MAP sensor from previous boosted setup on my N/A engine and after some thinking, realized this may not be a smart deci...
