I would seriously only recommend staying with the honda ecu until Hondata were to come out with a standalone system for it. The S2000 Ecu uses an immobilizer system which you would loose with an A/M ecu and increase the likley hood of theft. The ecu is also OBD-2 compliant and hondata is trying to work with this application to find a way to control the parameters of the ecu and work out the bugs out of it. There are a lot more other features to consider but these are all I can currently think of at the moment.
Until then sit tight, be patient and do the best you can with the piggyback/alphabet soups combinations until something form Hondata hits the market.
It would help if you could bring this thread to somebodys attention on a S2000 specific forum and get a lot of guys involved. I'm sure if you were to find a few guys to go in as a group purchase you may be able to save a little and help motivate the R&D of this application.
