ECU question....

Post by blownsi00 »

Lately i have been reading www.hondata.com , like there was no tommorrow!!!!!!
My questions are as follows:
the P72 is the 95 GSR ecu right?
THerefore, would i be able to use this ecu on my boosted 99 civic si?
Can i have the P72 be socketed like the P28(OBDII connectores) that hondata sells. Meaning the P28 comes socketed to use the OBDII wire harness? Can the P72 be socketed the same way(just plug n play, no wireharness)

TIA
Its N/A with a little bit of boost!!!!

Some P72's are OBD-I [ones for 94-95 GSR's] and some are OBD-II [for 96-00 GSR's]. If you use one with OBD-I connectors, you're going to need an adapter harness. While it is probably possible to put OBD-II connectors on an OBD-I P72, Hondata probably doesn't do it, and it will probably be cheaper and easier to just use an adapter harness. I don't think there's any way around you buying a harness if you want to put Hondata in an OBD-II car, except for of course using the Hondata modified P28 ECU.
