s100/p28 on an ls b18b

Post by pissedoffsol »

hey guys, quick question

a buddy of mine is considering the system, and we ran into a question tonight talking it up.
if he uses a p28 on an LS motor, would it throw a code? basically, im asking about the vtec system. to me, at X rpm, if there is no input detected, it will throw a code.

things i thought of were to set the vtec point to like 10,000 or something so it would never hit. but what about fully disabling vtec?

thoughts? ideas? facts?

thanks!

I was wondering the same thing. I have an LS Hatchback and want to put the S200 in with a P28 ECU. I am eventually going to slam a B16 head on the LS bottom so then I wouldn't have to change computers.

P28 with LS

It is possible to disable VTEC on the P28 with the s100/s200. You can set VTEC point to 10,000 rpm, or it is possible to get the ECU to switch tables so that you can map fuel & ignition to 11,000 rpm.
