Specifically I have a:
JDM B16A from a 99 SiRII w/ a 99Si USDM Wiring Harness w/ the JDM ECU (currently)
1. What ECU would I need to go Hondata w/ the JDM engine and USDM harness?
2. Will a USDM OBD1 ECU run the 96+ JDM Engine w/o problems?
What OBD1 ECU work on a JDM B16A from a 99 SiRII?

Car is a 2000 Si. It was stolen and I got it back. Had to buy a rep. engine so I got the JDM B16A that came w/ the Wiring Harness and ECU. I converted the harness to left hand drive (USDM) with a 99 Si harness.
I also have a Greddy Turbo kit and want to go hondata in the near future. Right now I have to buy a conversion harness from the USDM harness to the JDM ECU. About $250.00
I was wondering if I should go OBD1 now, for Hondata in the future.
Will a USDM OBD1 ECU work on a JDM engine? Someone told me the VTEC engaged differntly on a JDM ECU then a USDM...any truth to that? Thanks alot for your help bro, this situation is kinda tricky...

B16A engines around the world are almost identical except fro some minor differences.
The VTEC engagement you are talking about is the absence of VTEC PRESSURE SWITCH in OBD2 cars. OBD1 had those.
You can basically connect the US OBD2 engine wiring harness to the JDM engine. Another difference could be the injector clips used. GET a US ENGINE HARNESS and connect it to your JDM engine. you'll se that almost all the sockets and connectors are accounted for.
