Using Kpro K20A2 tuned calibration. OK to lower the VTEC?

Post by zeroprobe »

Hi,

I have a stock EP3 Type R and have just put a KPRO in it.

I'm using the K20A2 calibration that comes with Kmanager. The VTEC is at 5200rpm ( 5800rpm is standard on an EP3 ).

Would this map allow the change of the VTEC window to 4600rpm? I'm new and just worried if the cam angles etc are set up on this map to allow this change.

Thanks,

To get the best result, you would need to take ur EP3 for a full dyno tune.

With stock exhaust, the optimal VTEC point for my DC5 was 5200rpm.

ahh thanks. I'll keep it at 5200rpm until I get more mods.

It's still quite a difference.

PRA k20a2-tuned calibration don't touch lowcam VTC, it's the same values of OEM-ECU

modify your kal like this and put your feeling ;)

Sorry, could you explain in simple terms? Would the kmanager tuned map not have a smooth vtec because of this?

Would this be fine for a standard uk ep3 Type R?

Thanks for the kal.

Just tried it, nice map. I think I prefer it, although I do miss the little VTEC kick :)

I noticed I can get a constant knock count of 2. Is this normal?

I've attached my logs if anyone could help. Much appreciated

Vtec kick it's only marketing ..... jajajaajajajaa

The VTC in oem-ecu down to 0 degrees in vtec point (5800rpm) and you feel the kick .... but if you make a dyno graph , your torque will go dooooooooooooooooown...... in this point , it's a shit :D
You gain more torque with 30º

This kal works well in your car.. ;) i'm from spain and use it .

Seems better. No knock count.

You also increased the idle rpm to 850. I was going to say, on the v1 map, each time I came to a stop my engine struggled a little as the revs went a little to low at idle. All seems fine now.

Thanks very much. I'd buy you a drink if I could :)

when the idle dips goto "PARAMETERS" --> "IDLE" and ajust the bar says
"Idle Valve Duty........"
if you put the mouse over it, you see help tips
