S2000 kpro no temp guage

Post by s2ktom89 »

Finally got the s2000 running with the hondata kpro v4. Everything works great besides the coolant temp on the cluster. It sits at one bar and does not move. I monitor the temps through the kpro so i know the temp is rising. Fan switch works as it should. I am still using the ap1 cluster. Everything else on cluster works perfectly.

Now when purchasing the kpro i was told to purchase the ap2 04-05 unit. Not sure if thats y the cluster is working or not. Any ideas?

2004 ap2 swap.

What is the serial number that is on the K-Pro board inside the ECU?

When you say you were told to buy the 04-05 unit, what unit are you referring to?

Ill post the serial number when i get home. I purchased the hondata from kings motorsports out in wisconsin. They have two options 00-03 ap1 and 04-05 ap2. I asked them which would i need since i have a ap1 chassis but ap2 swap. I was told to purchase the ap2 option. Referring to the kpro v4 for the s2000

There is only one K-Pro for S2000, 00-05 all use the same thing.

Not sure if this was fixed but I would suggest bleeding the cooling system a few times. Does the coolant read correctly when reading off a computer or Hondata app? Mine had this issue where it would only not read correctly on the dash. After multiple times bleeding it and about 1k miles is eventually started reading right. At first it would only read right some of the time but it worked it's way up to always reading correctly. Hope this helps.

If kpro reads the temp correctly it's probably not air in the system.
My v4 for S2000 has been working perfectly since I installed it, only weird thing is right when you start the car the temp meter on the cluster is fully lit (highest temp).
I think this is normal though and it drops down to one bar after just a couple of seconds.

Did you get this resolved? Curious because my coolant temp gauge on the cluster started acting strange today. It cycles from 0 bars to 7 bars almost on an exact time schedule. KPRO reads 185-188 straight through.

Prior to today, I’ve never had any issues with it. I’ve had a KPRO AP1 for 5 years.

Nope, never got it to work. On the cluster it stays at full cold and dosent move at all, i read the temp thru the bluetooth for the time being. I haven't driven the car since last year. I think imma try a new sensor at the radiator and hard wiring it to the ecu to possibly bypass a wiring issue
