Primary O2 Sensor Not Reading

- what vehicle you have
K-swapped Lotus Elise
- serial number of your K-Pro
05005224
- version of software being used (from Help, About)
4.1.1.0
- ECU part number (starts with 37820) and serial number (the number under the part number)
37820-PRB-A06
- KManager version (not 'the latest')
As above?? 4.1.1.0
- anything about the car which has been modified from stock which may affect the ECU (don't include what sort of rims you have nor stereo etc).
K20A2 engine, bespoke supercharger installation, ID1050X injectors
- when and where you got the K-Pro
It came with the vehicle, which I bought as a project.

I am running the engine for the first time since build and I don't seem to be getting any reading from my O2 sensor. With ignition on, I get A/F 14.70. At engine start, I get A/F 10.70. The engine starts in Open Loop - Cold and quickly moves to Open Loop - Driving. I don't have any codes, which seems strange in itself. I've tried two sensors.

I'm fairly happy with the wiring. The sensor side wires are going to Pin A6 and A16 with the correct polarity. The sensor heater gets battery voltage from a from an ignition switched relay on one wire and the other wire goes to Pin A1. Pin A1 sits at battery voltage with the ignition on (0V across heater) and 0V when the engine starts (battery voltage across heater). Pin A22 gets ignition switched battery voltage.

Is there anything in my calibration or datalog that points to the issue? What A/F should I be reading in KManager with the ignition on and at startup? Is it possible that the sensor is working and this is a real clipped reading (i.e. A/F is really below 10.70)?

Any help will be greatly appreciated!

Thanks,
Joe

The o2 sensor does not appear to be working. You should try this ECU in a known working vehicle to see if it reads as it should.

Thanks for the response. I have another question...

I've tried two sensors that were different, but I assumed they were interchangeable. I'm finding it hard to verify that though.

Sensor 1: Denso 192400-1091, two black wires, one green, one white
Sensor 2: Denso 192400-8040, two black wires, one white, one blue

Should these both work?

Thanks,
Joe

I'm not sure from the part numbers. You really need to try the ECU in something that you know works and that way you can tell if it is something specific to your vehicle.

That's easier said than done. I'm not part of any Honda tuning group or community and I'm struggling to get any joy from local tuners.

Can anyone else help with my question above regarding sensor types?

Thanks,
Joe
