Knock retard with kpro

Post by Razathorn »

I realize that kpro gets rid of the retard ignition on knock from happening... but my quesiton is is that only at WOT or is that additionally for closed loop cruising? The reason I ask is due to the sheer existance of the K.Retard value. In the sensors window.

K-Pro itself does not get rid of that...you have to tune the car so it does not knock.

I understand that, but that's not what I was asking. What I was asking is the behavior (not retarding anything) is constant across both open and closed loop. If so, why is there a K Retard value... what possible use could there be in seeing / knowing about it.
