Need help tuning cam angles

Post by tiger »

Hello,

I am trying to tune each cam angle. I have already read a lot of posts, understand the techniques, watched the training videos. The problem I am having is that I can't get rid of the knock on a cam angle map. I started with the 0 low cam map, started WOT pull and knock started instantly at 2000 to 3500. I pulled, and added 2 degrees in that area but could not get rid of the knock. Do I just keep pulling ignition? I have attached the kal and datalog. Any help is appreciated.

Setup:
K24A2
50* VTC
CAI
JRSC 3.0 Pulley
Aftercooled
Short Header to 2.5 test pipe and mid pipe. Type R muffler.

Well you can retard ignition, but you should be using your datalogs and adjusting your fuel map first. Have you been adjusting the fuel? and keeping the A/F ratio's at the desired numbers?

If you are then I'd keep pulling the ignition numbers down until you see improvement.

As a member said earlier, the AFRs have to be optimized in all the operating cells and load before one can start doing the timing.
If the AFRs are good then yes pull timing until its gone.
