Hi,
Civic EP3 EDM K20A2
KPRO V3 (will have to check the SN)
KManager v3.3.1
12,5:1 cr (Mahle motorsport pistons)
TODA N2 cams, valve springs, tensioner, chain
310cc OEM injectors
DENSO IK01-24 racing spark plugs
PRC intake manifold
ITG maxogen intake
TODA racing header
Custom 2,25" exhaust with Invidia G200 backbox
PLX SM-AFR, SM-FT on V3 analog inputs
5.100 final drive
Problem is:
When the car is started (cold) it runs fine, but hesitates from 1500 to 2500 on light throttle until warmed up. In real life the car is stared and i drive off. Car feels lumpy and hesitates on light throttle the first 500 meters while rpms are between 800-2200rpm. Problem is felt the most around 1800-2000rpm. Problem is evident on light throttle only. When I apply medium load on the engine, problem is not noticeable, car runs just fine.
I have attached log and cal i made for my car.
One thing that I do not understand why in time around 1:00 is IGN 10° while in calibration is set ~20° (is this changed by the Low Water Temperature Ignition Advance?). That could be the problem, but how can I fix it?
Thanks.
Dan

Re: K20A2, 12.5cr, rough runing while cold and light throttl
Has this been properly tuned on the dyno? Have you discussed this issue with your tuner?
Re: K20A2, 12.5cr, rough runing while cold and light throttl
I was creating this tune by myself. Just need a hint where to look.
One more thing, if I run car in open loop, it runs just fine. I have experienced this behaviour on at least 4 cars with kpro and different mods.
It is something with warming up and ecu corrections while cold. But I can't pinpoit it.
Thanks
Dan

Re: K20A2, 12.5cr, rough runing while cold and light throttl
Have you tried disabling ignition retard when cold in the misc parameters?
Re: K20A2, 12.5cr, rough runing while cold and light throttl
I am still testing this out, playing with "Disable fuel over-run cutoff delay" too. Will post results once tests are finished.
Thank for your input Spunkster.

Re: K20A2, 12.5cr, rough runing while cold and light throttl
Issue seems to be resolved!
Changes I made to my calibration to solve this issue:
1) Misc > Checked "Disable ignition retard when the engine is cold".
2) Closed Loop > "Disable fuel over-run cutoff delay".
3) Advance ignition by 5% in area where the hesitation was (750-2000rpm).
4) Changed VTC to 20 in colum 1 and 2 between 1750 and 3500.
"Disable ignition retard when the engine is cold" heleped with hesitation when cold, but the car was still "rough" (bunny hoping while shifting and it felt jerky and not direct).
"Disable fuel over-run cutoff delay" in combination with advancing ignition in the problematic area solved the engine response problem. Changing the VTC settings was a nice final touch to perfect feeling.
/me happy now!
