You should follow the instructions provided with it and install it however Autometer tells you to.

If Im not mistaken, autometer hooks up to the ignition and uses a pills to control the rpm shift light.
Since Hondatas S300 has the Shift Light option I would like to hook up the light to my hondata in order to be able to make changes with the SManager.

Or else, what are my options for a shift light with hondata other than the "check engine" light?

http://www.hondata.com/downloads/s200%2 ... manual.doc

read the section on installing a shift light...it is the same for an s300.

This will not be compatible with an Autometer.

In that case, which shift light does Hondata recommend if the Autometer ones are not compatible?

You can use an autometer, you just have to install it as their instructions say.

You probably can use MIL output to relay and then to two wire Shift Lite
