I am having issues with boost spike depending on temperature/weather conditions etc.

I have it set at fixed duty cycle

55hz
At 18%

Some days it runs at 10 pounds, some days it runs at 15 pounds. Some days it hits boost cut set at 16. If I go to 19% the car goes to 30 pounds, if I go to 17% it goes to 8 pounds. It is very touchy! When there are extra people in the car it defiantly hits boost cut, but that is a given due to increased weight and resistance allowing it build more boost.

I have tried changing the frequency, but it doesn't like that. I have checked the way it is hooked up, everything according to the diagrams, I have checked wiring. WHERE TO GO NEXT?

I do have the wastegate dump re rooted into the down pipe, could this be too close? I am about to the point of ordering a 15 pound springs and dumping the boost controller.

Car is a 1998 Honda Civic LX sedan

00 B18B1
LS tranny
1000cc precision injectors
Walbro fuel pump
Tial 50mm bov
Tial 44mm waste gate
RC autoworks ram horn
3" stainless down pipe
Full 3" stainless exhaust with resonator and stealth muffler
50 trim 57 intake side 48 exhaust
Hondata boost controller

I have 15k miles on the set up beating the crap out of it at 12-15 pounds of boost. Best time is a 13.5 with full interior, completely stock looking car, hitting boost cut, and a street tune done by myself way too rich. The car runs good and is a sleeper.

Did you install a diode with the solenoid?

I installed the one that came with the boost controller kit. Could it have gone bad?

did the diode come with the solenoid or with the ecu components?

I never recieved the ecu parts, I sent that to you guys (hondata) and had it socketed and the boost control components installed.

The diode came with the boost controller parts. I ordered the boost controller from an authorized dealer as well.

Remove that diode then and you should see better resolution on the duty cycle.

I got the problem with my controller as well. I bought from xenocron, a MAC boost controller with ecu components. The variable frequency is 38Hz but it is off. When I use on 25% fixed duty cycle, than it is open at 1.6 bar boost, but if I wanna change to gear based target boost or gear based duty cycle, than just kick the boost cut easy. Nobody said how is have to adjust it, what I have to do with this. Please help, two more weeks and I go to drag race in street cat and I need the gear based option to work. Thanks! Andrew

Sorry for the bad English! :(

Mine does the same thing. Running gear based target boost, I'm constantly pushing the numbers up n down to try and maintain steady boost levels in each gear. I'm not sure about the diode since I didn't do the install myself, was done by shop that built engine, H22 in a 01 prelude. I have boost cut at 25psi and try to target 18psi in 3rd, 23-24psi for 4th and 5th gears. It's so touchy I can change boost by one psi in parameters but I'll see a 5-6psi change in actually boost levels. I have faith that the system can function much more accurately that this, but not sure where to start. Would gear base duty cycle be more consistent?

No, do not touch any of the components in the ECU. If a diode was installed with the boost control solenoid itself, then remove that diode.

in theory shouldnt it hit boost and carry all the way through the pull? when using one i had it about 50% duty making 18psi but it didnt see 18psi until toward the end. I will create my own threads with logs etc so i dont clutter this one.
