SManager 2.2.4

Post by Hondata »

The main changes is the addition of 'target lambda' tables so you can run closed loop under full load, a new output test function (for the boost control solenoid etc), a soft(er) limiter for launch control and valet/security functions.

V2.2.0 (5 Dec 2012) changes: V2.2.1 (17 Dec 2012) changes:
  • Fixed no start condition.
V2.2.2 (20 Dec 2012) changes:
  • Fixed Max TPS Closed Loop table save/reload.
V2.2.3 (21 Dec 2012) changes:
  • Fixed tip in TPS table save/reload.
V2.2.4 (9 Jan 2013) changes:
  • Fixed set ignition timing.

I uploaded the 2.2.0 and now my car wont start. My guess is the security locked it out, it cranks, sometimes fires and imediatley dies. I've tried uploading with the TPS security disabled and all other set to not be used (brake, etc) and still nothing.

****UPDATE****
I went back to 2.1.0.0 and the car started right up. I cant download the current production version or the beta now... Not a valid win32 application is the fault.

'not a valid win32 application' is usually from anti virus software deleting the application without telling you.

If the car will not start; at least give us the calibration and a datalog.

I uploaded 2.2 and drove it. Would only rev to 2500rpm. Overall rev limiter was set at 2500rpm. Just re uploaded it and it was back to normal then. Did not change the calibration at all.

Uploaded again to 2.2.0 and the same thing happened, no start. Uploaded again right after that like previous post and car started. After going through all the tables I found that lean protection had changed on me I set it back to where I want it and all is good. I've attached a log from the crank but no start fault.

Following the instructions for the Running Closed Loop Under High Load in the help menu (Closed Loop Advanced Parameters) it suggests to use 100% for the Max TPS. I cannot exceed 99%. I've attached this as well. Thanks in advance for the help.

So, you uploaded 2.2.0, then uploaded again and it fixed the no start problem?

Which part of the lean protection changed? Do you have the calibration from before 2.2.0?

99% is the max value for the Closed Loop Max TPS (the help file does mention this).

It was lean protection 1 that had changed. I don't have the calibration, I changed it as soon as I noticed it was not boost and PSI, it had changed to kpa.

The help file said to make the setting 100% for the TPS, I noticed the note in the help mentioning 99% file now, they do say different things...Nothing crazy, just was a little confused at first.

I'm also having a problem starting the engine with the current beta. I was using version 2.1.5.0 in a JDM P72 with no problems. Installed version 2.2.0 and upload my current calibration to the ECU, notice check engine light was on so I turn key off. Turn key on and started engine, engine started, I then tried out the launch soft limiter. Happy with that I called it night. The following day engine started no problem, drove the car to the drive way connect laptop and uploaded same calibration while engine was running and engine stopped running. Tried to start engine but it will crank but no start, release the key I can still hear my gas pump running for an extended period , this is not normal for my set up, tried several times to start with no luck. I had to go back to 2.1.5.0 and the engine started on the fist attempt. Here is the current calibration. Can you please advise.

i was at the dyno two days ago and updated Smanager to 2.2.0 just before the tuning session, during tuning when i made changes and looked over datalogs and restarted the car, my calibration file was corrupted. this happened several times and the car would not restart, i would get a solid check light and when i turn the engine over the light would flicker on and off.

reverted back to older release and all was fine

I normally do not post things like this, but this beta is VERY bad.

1) The soft touch does not work. If you add it to the tune, it messes up the car AFTER the launch. Had 2 cars do the same thing, disabled the soft touch, problem gone. Problem does NOT show in the log.

2) Cars not starting after upload. You have to close the software and reload the map. That does not help it all the times. Sometimes clearing the ECU works. 2 cars I had issues with that were not starting, converted back to 2.1.5 (did not use my laptop) and started on first time. At times it pulses the CEL and fuel pump.

One car had a s300v1 (serial around the 2000) and other was S300v2 (around 10200).

Ok folks, a little more information would be appreciated. We've run this release on multiple cars without problems, so I'm wondered what we are doing differently.

When there is a major change in the ECU code (like this release), everything gets shifted around in the ECU memory. The upshot is when you upload the ECU tends to go into a limp mode until the upload is complete, which may (worst case) take several key power cycles and uploads from SManager. If you try to start the car before the ECU code is fully uploaded, well it is not going to work. Also you will need to cycle the ignition after the first upload in order to reset the ECU.

Does everyone download from the ECU or do you load the calibration from the laptop?

Does the car run for some period of time and then fail to start, or does it not want to start immediately after the upload?

Can anyone else upload a calibration here (preferable not downloaded from the ECU)?

What version S300 are you using?

What version were you updating from?

Thanks for your help.

I always run the most recent version of the software, either the beta or the production version. I check for updates on a weekly basis. I tried 2.2.0 on two different cars (both with the most recent software prior to 2.2.0) One is S300v1 with a very low serial number (~300ish) The other car has v2 and was ordered about 2 months ago.

I only upload to the ECU from a laptop unless I need to get a calibration from a "new" car, both these cars were started from scratch by me and the calibrations were never pulled from the ECU.

The fail to start was immediate, both cars loaded with engine off-key on. When the load was successful, I cycled the key off and attempted to start with S300 manager not connected. Both cars were done in the same manner.

One car (v2) was rolled back to 2.1.0.0 and left like that. The other car (v1) has not been against the soft rev limiter but so far has worked fine, other than when I close S300 manager, there is a "abnormal program termination" window that pops up repeatdly, this might be my laptop acting up as it is getting old...
