HELP ME UNDERSTAND - NOOB!

I have a B16A that i will soon be boosting to 10psi.

Can anyone answer any of my questions:

What injector size is best for this amount of boost? - bearing in mind the questions below

What type of fuel regulator do you guys run? - My guess is just an adjustable one like AEM, yes?

If I want to run 10psi most of the time but then on occation turn this down to say 6psi how would i go about doing this. I mean, can I use a wastgate with a 6psi spring, electronic boost controller integrated with S300. Set the boost in hondata to 10psi, use a aux switch to switch down to 6psi when needed??

I suppose i should have said can I use the aux input on the S300 to change the fuel map & boost using a switch?

Im guessing you are using a factory map sensor... the factory map sensor will read 11 psi so if you run 4 psi it will have different fuel values then at 11 psi. there will be no need to switch fuel maps the map sensor tells the ecu how much boost you are running and will make the appropriate changes once its tuned

I get it now! :D

So i get the car tuned for 10psi daily drive and then use a switch(not a button) connected to the N20/Aux port so that I can switch between 10psi and 6psi?

Anyone want to let me know wha size injectors i should go for?? 550cc??

No....As long as the car is tuned for both levels of boost and all levels in between then the car will run perfectly for both without you having to do anything.

So get it tuned right and use the switch to lower the boost when needed?

Also, hondata controls the timing right? Does this mean I don't need adjustable cam pulleys? I could spend the extra $$ towards something else if thats the case.

Hondata S300 controls ignition timing. Cam gears control camshaft timing.

Now i am a bit clearer.

I have an internal wastegate spring of 6psi, i want to boost to 10psi+ at a flick of a button.

What equipment do i need to do this? i.e. what boost controllers are compatible with hondata?

Then i would set the boost to 6psi in hondata and then, when the switch is on, the N20/Aux would change the boost to 10psi or what ever i set it to?

Explain please! :)

I have not messed around much with the Hondata s300 ability to operate boost control. Hell I didnt even know it could do it I may look into this.
I myself already had a Apexi AVCR before i ever purchased hondata. With that unit you can set it up to hold whatever boost leevl you want and it has a "A" and "B" setting which is where you can change from 6 to 10 psi at the "flip of a switch".

As far as this "switch" operating your maps maybe these generick props will help.

--- = before boost
* = 1psi of boost

If your car is running normally in vacuum without using boost your ecu reads this:

|----------|

If your tuned for 6psi of boost your ecu reads this:

|----------******|

if your tuned for 10psi your ecu can read this :

|----------**********|

So notice if your tuned for 10 psi it does not matter is you only run 6, it will read correctly. However if your only tuned for 6psi (notice middle prop) that is when you dont want to go above 6 psi for your ecu does not know what to do.

So if your TUNED for 10psi then to run 6psi you have to do nothing for the ecu already knows what to do.

Sorry if this seemed like double information I just wanted to use a differant method to help you understand this.

The s300 will not control a boost controller, but it does have fuel and timing maps for boost conditions.

Meaning - just get a damn boost controller............for less than $150 ........use that to up the boost........and the s300 should run fine without changing anything - just get it tuned for your boost levels.

Use some GReddy boost controller - up the boost in 2 seconds.........and you're off.
