Hondalogger serial cable for S200

My S200 has the datalogging option. There are 2 serial cables available in the DB9M to DB9F configuration. One is simply listed as a "serial" cable for connecting printers, etc. The other is called a "null modem cable", used to transfer data from one computer to another computer. My understanding is they are wired differently. Which one is needed for S200 datalogging? I will be using the Keyspan USB adapter into my Win7 laptop. Thanks, satwilson

It uses a standard serial cable.

Windows 7 does not support serial cables nor parallel, I even doubt that the keyspan usb convertor will work.
Install windows xp on an old machine with a serial connection.
None of recent laptop have the connector anymore.

Windows 7 does support both serial ports and the USB to serial adapter.

Fora are full of problems with those adapters, in most cases its easier to use a win xp machine.

Update, the Keyspan works fine with my Windows7 laptop, you must configure and get settings correct. Please see my other post "S200 datalogging" for complete details. satwilson
