motec lambda

Post by bitanem »

Is it possible to replace the standard lambda sonde with the Motec unit, and leave the original unconnected, just for the dyno runs, or will that generate fault codes?
That way I can immeddiately see the value when i'm on the dyno.
I've got no datalogging, that's why I have to do it this way.
If I run the car in open loop, does the ecu need the lambda signal to work properly?

With Hondata set the ECU to 'open loop'. Otherwise just unplug the o2 sensor and ignore the error code. The ECU will run correctly at WOT with the o2 unplugged or faulty.

Good results: about 4 hp more peakpower, almost 10 Nm from 4000 to 5500 by advancing vtec.
Torque gains all across the powerband.
