TPS affecting fuel delivery at startup

Post by turbo sol »

I'm getting closer to having my car start how i want it to. One thing that will help me trouble shoot it is know how the tps affects fuel delivery at startup.

so when i go to start it sometime I have to press the pedal down 3/4 of the way to get it to catch. – is this:

a. adding only more air, and not any more fuel per spray

-or-

b. adding extra fuel by thinking the car is going faster

it is also my thinking that by holding the pedal all the way down cuts the injectors off. is that right?

I'm just trying to figure out if I need to be removing or adding startup fuel. Thanks.

Since we do not know if your car is getting too much or not enough fuel, you will just have to try both adding and removing fuel to see which works better. You should not have to touch the throttle to start the car.

i agree.

i was trying to figure out if I was let in just air when i push the pedal to open the throttle plate, or if it was adding gas too.

I didn't know how the ecu interpreted those signals at startup.
