H22 turbo with S300; MAP reads 4.xx psi on startup

Post by Mikey3000 »

i'm pretty damn sure i have the 3 bar SVE map sensor wired correctly. is there something i need to change? i changed my map to custom and the voltage parameter looks about right. is there any other map parameter that i need to change?

sounds like you have the wrong scaler offsets. You will have to look int eh Help, Contents and search for "map scaler". There are very detailed instructions on how to calculate this.

the map sensor says it should read 1.65V @ atm pres. so i did some hardcore math and found the scalar and offset to be 881 and -440 respectively, which netted me a 1.651V@atm pres. i uploaded this to my ecu and the motor didn't like it. so i went back to the motec 3 bar which is 1.66V@atm pressure and the motor loved it but my map sensor still reads ~4 psi at idle. why is there such a big difference in the way the motor responds to the 1.651V and the 1.66V?

If you plug the stock map sensor in what does it read at idle?

there's no turning back to the stock map now with the installation of the SVE 3 bar.

Well you need to do this. It is part of the troubleshooting process.
