I recently purchased a Hondata Flashpro for 06+ Civic SI from someone on craigslist in Sacramento. When receiving the flashpro they assured me that it was unlocked before handing it over to me. I'm not sure what happened, but after I installed the Flashpro software on my computer everything looked good. I entered my information and connected the flashpro to my computer soon after. I registered it through Hondata on the software. I then went to my car with my laptop and had a good internet connection, turned it on and plugged the flashpro into the OBDII port. I then went to lock the flashpro to my vehicle and it gave me an error saying that it was not the VIN it was locked to. But prior to that it didn't show any history, soon after that flashpro showed the previous calibrations and history. I am in need of help and really confused as to why Flashpro all of a sudden re-locked to the old seller's vehicle VIN somehow. I have read a lot online and on Hondata's website looking for some kind of answer as to what I can do. I know it always says that the only way is to unlock from the vehicle it was locked to. But, is there an alternative way Hondata can unlock it for me at all? I feel like I just got screwed, the seller is not answering emails or phone yet. I have multiple friends who own Hondata tuning and love their equipment. They always said that Hondata's support was spot on. Is there any way I can get it unlocked to be able to use in my car. If not, I have an expensive paper weight. I don't know if the seller intentionally did this or if he just didn't unlock it correctly. But, I have tried and tried again and again to contact him, and no reply.
Please, I need help with this.

We can only unlock the FlashPro if we have the ECU it was locked to.
