Changed Knock Sensor - Now getting knock and high Knock Control on same tune

Post by 07siiii »

I had a knock sensor break in half. I replaced it with a new one and now the knock level is much higher in the same conditions as before.

Knock level was peaking at 15% during cruising before and 55% at WOT. With the new sensor it's now 25% when cruising and 75% at WOT.

Knock Control would stay at 54% before and is now going to 100%. It is now retarding timing and also registering knocks in all cyl. Never seen it register a knock with the old sensor.

Do the knock tables need to be adjusted when changing knock sensors? Seems like the new one is "more sensitive".

I put the "return to stock tune" back on and it also has the knock control go to 100%.

Some of these knocks are at low RPM and some are at high RPM.

Ill attach logs of the new sensor and old sensor.

based on the fact the other sensor was broken I would be inclined to trust the new one as long as it is an OEM part.
