VTC Differences in Race vs AFM

Post by web35 »

I've seen your guidance to use the AFM base calibratiions and convert to MAP tuning to avoid the fuel guage issues inherent in the race base maps. When I compare the VTC maps for both the AFM and Race versions of the "FG2/FA5, CAI, Skunk2 header & catback" calibrations, they are quite different. Should I copy the race VTC map into the AFM calibration? What about the other maps: fuel, timing, etc.?
I'm trying to understand why the maps are different and which is best to start with for MAP tuning for best performance.

They are calibration based of completely different vehicles. The AFM calibration will be the best starting point and then tune from there.
