If it is a competing product then please don't. I believe I have answered your question - there is no relation.

Actually, it is not a competing product since it no longer on the market. DSD/DSD-2 also can not be used with M&W Pro-14, Autronic 500R, Motec 41011 or any other aftermarket CDI controller.

I was just wondering since the designer of that system was looking for someone in the US to distribute his ignition for OEM based ECUs or to at least partner up with him.

Will the software for the CPR offer the ability to alter the ignition dwell?
FYI - YES, I am planning to purchase the CPR.

The coil packs use the same pulse from the ECU as the stock igniter, so the ignition dwell can be changed in the same way.

However, in testing I have not found any increase in spark energy from increasing the dwell over stock (but the coils do heat up faster).

Will base timing still be adjusted by rotating the distributor? If the base firing/timing is not being controlled by the phasing of the rotor to the #1 terminal in the distributor cap, I am struggling to comprehend how to set the base timing.

You still adjust base timing by adjusting the distributor. The sensors inside the distributor are what determine the timing.

the plastic cap can be removed or switch to something else, because it isn't used anymore.

am i right? the idea is, to make the distributor smaller and look nicer for those, who look for a clean motor bay.

best regards Lukas

Luke,

You are correct. I plan to make something special to clean up the engine bay. You could go nuts and do something like this:

Here's my somewhat less glamorous solution to cleaning up the engine bay. Locash, if you decide you want to CNC this piece, let me know. I'll send it to you. Base for the mod is a D16Z6 distributor, so I don't know if the cap fits many applications or not. I also cut the tip off the distributor shaft where the rotor would bolt on to drop the height even more. Then I'm going with the D17 valve cover (direct bolt on for the D16Z6 and all the D16Y heads). It's still to be modded for crankcase breathing and then powder coated.

Couple quick shots of my billet solution that I will be offering with CPR orders.. :)

This car has been testing the CPR for awhile at over 800hp.

(crappy cell phone pics, apologies in advance)

CPR's are not yet shipping. Might yet be another week or two..

Distributor covers are. :)

But, but... I want a custom low profile black or orange anodized one. I cut the end of the distributor shaft down so it is flush with the top of the upper reluctor to make the dizzy as low profile as possible.

Custom is obviously right, most guys arent willing to cut their distributor shaft to make the cap smaller, lol. If we can find enough nutballs willing to do that, drop me a line and I'll see what I can do.. :)
