CPR Firing wierd
CPR Firing wierd
Hello, I just installed my CPR kit on to my car. I am having trouble getting the car start. All of the CPR retro fit unit power, inj and sync lights are all lit and flashing like they should. It seems that the car is getting spark at the wrong time. The car is giving the same symptom as if I crossed my spark plug wires. What would cause this to happen? Is it possible that I have bad unit?
Re: CPR Firing wierd
We've not had any problems with the CPR itself being faulty, So far all the problems have been, in order of frequency, the distributor (genuine Honda distributors work much better), grounding the CPR correctly, wiring (people pull the wiring apart to tuck it and switch wires or leave out the grounds), and occasionally the ECU itself.

Re: CPR Firing wierd
So you're saying even with all the lights working on the cpr unit ,it could mean I have a bad ground? Why would a bad distributor matter and or how would that effect anything?

What vehicle is this in?
What Engine is this?
Are you using an OEM or aftermarket distributor?
What has been done to this vehicle?
What spark plugs are you using?

Re: CPR Firing wierd
This is a 1992 Acura integra. Engine is 1992-1995 b16a jdm motor (turbo ed car) . I am using a aftermarket distributor , the same one that started the car before the CPR retro fit. NGK Spark plugs gaped at 0.25.
Re: CPR Firing wierd
It could be the aftermarket distributor, we have seen a lot of problems with them even though it ran the car before the CPR.
Are the spark plugs resistor or non-resistor?

Re: CPR Firing wierd
Not sure What should they be? What part would I need from a new distributor for this to work properly?
Re: CPR Firing wierd
What is the part number of the spark plugs you are using?
You should try using a complete OEM distributor.

Re: CPR Firing wierd
I had a high speed problem with an aftermarket distributor. One of the positioning sensors wasnt acting right. Changed it out for a brand new oem and fixed the problem. Im still having a random misfire issue with the cpr that i cant seem to solve.
