Individual Cylinder Ignition Trim

Post by iketh » Thu May 22, 2014 9:14 pm

I'm sacrificing fuel mileage for power because this table doesn't have a high and low. The trim needed on high cam is significantly larger than low cam. Would be a good addition for tuning.

At low/medium load ignition timing makes very little difference to fuel economy.

ok but you're not taking into account change in fuel requirements... the cylinder needing most retard requires the most fuel, so the power benefits are larger than your chart implies

the purpose is to even out power and a/f ratio between each cylinder, so I think the benefits are tangible having a separate WOT table for both fuel and ignition cylinder trims

Sorry, I thought you meant ignition trim. Individual cylinder fuel trim is a percentage, so an adjustment will be correct over all load ranges. It is hard to adjust without individual lambda sensors.
he cylinder needing most retard requires the most fuel
I do not believe that this is true.

shoot you're right... how about ignition trim being a percentage too :)

No, ignition trim must be a relative trim. As a percentage it would be hard to determine what the base should be (probably not TDC).
