IOS 8 issues

Post by RyanR »

I just updated my iPhone 5 to IOS8 and now I can't connect to my s300. I've confirmed that I can still connected to the ECU using an iPad running IOS7. I've tried resetting the network settings on my iPhone and I still cannot connect. It doesn't show up when I try to pair with it or under the Hondata application itself. Anyone else run into this issue?

With Bluetooth low energy there is no paring.

It seems that Apple has broken Bluetooth in iOS8.

Apple has changed how core bluetooth works in iOS8. It is going to takes us a couple of weeks to get the mobile app changed and through the submission process.

It would be nice if Apple retained backwards compatibility between OS version.

Thanks for the update. Looking forward to having this app work again. Bizarre that apple would change this. Guess they don't believe in not fixing it if it ain't broke.

Apple seems to have changed Bluetooth Low Energy to put Bluetooth to sleep when not in use, and our application needs to be updated to suit their (undocumented) changes.

We're at least a week away from doing this.

Fixed and submitted to the app store. Now 'waiting for review'. Average time in review is currently 12 days, but since this is a very minor change we're hoping for a quicker turnaround.
