We have found that the only reliable USB to serial converter is the KeySpan. Other brand USB-Serial converters often cause conectivity or Windows operating system issues.

Keyspan has a new part number out for the USB to serial adapter. It is the USA-19HS. It has replaced all the past -19 part numbers. I have found it NOT to work with my laptop (Compaq Presario V2000). None of the 8 COM ports would conncect to the logger. So I will be trying the PCMCIA to serial adapter. Due to the fact that a PCMCIA slot is considered to stll be a COM port. I am hoping that this will work. As soon as I have tested it, I will post up and let everyone know the brand and where I purchased it.

The new keyspan works fine on my laptop (IBM) serial port.

Got it to work. Ws just messing around one day before the Fontana race. Set the COM port, then closed the application, then restarted it. Sure enough there it was.
