I took my 2017 Civic SI to a friend's Dyno it's a Dynojet the vehicle stock produced 209 hp and 194 TQ stock. We flash the +6 and Dyno 217 HP 235 TQ . Slightly disappointed in the horsepower and torque any ideas as to why the numbers were so low.

The first two things to look at are the knock control and lambda values from the dyno runs.

You have to look at your datalogs unless you didnt take one.

Yes, the knock control and lambda would be in the datalogs. The dyno graphs shows a fairly big increase in torque except at the very top end. The behavior of the knock control at the top end tells you if it is a restriction or the turbo running out of puff.

That's completely expected. Take note hondata supplied a "BASEMAP TUNE" for you. To argue why only this "low" of a gain and what not, is very debatable.

Anyway,

You will need a "CUSTOM TUNE" to fully utilize this $600 flashpro. At the end of the day, it is a software tool with lots of potential/variable that you or your tuner can play with and not just a $39.99 " OBD2 plug and play racing chip."

janemar, on the 1.5 turbo engines our basemaps are very well tuned and work well. We do tune on 91 octane so there are some gains from using higher octane fuel, and as always with a turbo engine, you can always run more boost, but the basemaps are not far from optimum.

Based on my personal experience on a using the +6psi base map on a bonestock 1.5T.

@ peak power,
Fuel is hoovering at 9.8 to 10.3 AFR.
Ignition @ -2deg to -10deg //k.control .54 - .76
Not to mention, sketchy MAF calibration...

It's not really well tuned, for my taste. But yeah, pretty much It'll work just fine for the life of the vehicle.

Strange, we have not seen anything like that behavior on many different vehicle 1.5T vehicles we have tested. If you have datalogs you can pin to the +6psi calibration then send them to us.

The stock civic x si has 20.3 psi. Hondata's +6, +9 tune is based off non-si stock boost pressure. ( I think around 16 psi ) The SI would only be gaining net increase of pressure +2psi when using the +6 and net +5psi when running +9.

I just got a 2020 Si upgrading from a 2017 hatch. I was baffled at why I thought my hatch was just as quick and now I know why. The Si’s upgraded suspension is a thing of beauty though! Thanks for the insight
