Upgrading Civic Hatchback 2017 EX-L to 2018 Sport Touring

I am considering trading in my 2017 Civic Hatchback EX-L for a 2018 Civic Hatchback Sport Touring. I understand that to take my 2017 back to stock I just need to plug in the Flashpro and "return to stock." My question is what all is involved in sending in my Flashpro for the new ECU on the 2018? I realize this information may be somewhere in the forum or Hondata manual (I did look), but I also want to be very careful to do this right.

Old vehicle: Return to stock. Unlock.
New vehicle: Lock.
Not sure what you mean about sending in the FlashPro.

I assumed the 2017 and 2018 wouldn't use the same ECU and I would need to replace my FlashPro.

The FlashPro is the same for both vehicles. You can use your current one.
