2016 civic EXT cruise control unable to achieve stable speed
2016 civic EXT cruise control unable to achieve stable speed
What's up hondata community!
Okay, so far so good. The only problem I am having with hondata is that I no longer can use cruise control. Yes, it will engage , but as soon as I go up or down the slightest hill (yes it does it on flat ground too) it's almost as if the car has no idea what speed it is set at. For example: I set the cruise at 77 mph then it slowly falls down to 74, 75 but as it's falling in speed it's gaining in RPM 3k..4k..until wham it kicks into full turbo boost and takes the mph up to 79 / 80.
Please help I drive an hour to work n back 4 days a week.

If you return the ECU to stock, does it do the same thing?
Re: 2016 civic EXT cruise control unable to achieve stable speed
As in to stock then back to my current map? CVT transmission to clarify.
Re: 2016 civic EXT cruise control unable to achieve stable speed
Try using the online menu option to return to stock and then test your cruise control with the ECU completely stock.
Re: 2016 civic EXT cruise control unable to achieve stable speed
Yeah the cruise control works flawlessly as stock
Re: 2016 civic EXT cruise control unable to achieve stable speed
So since this issue started you have returned to stock and run with the ECU stock again to see if the problem is still there?
Post your calibration as well as a datalog showing the issue.

So on my drive to work I turned on eco mode and it seemed to work fine?

Yeah i finally got my flashpro working with the latest update and i noticed this issue as well. Its not as bad in econ mode but it still does it. And it seems to be worse the higher you set cruise control. Doesn't happen at all at say 65, but set cruise to 80 and every hill is a shit show.
Ill datalog it next night i drive home on an empty highway again.

Re: 2016 civic EXT cruise control unable to achieve stable speed
So I datalogged the event in ECON and in normal drive mode. Seems worse in econ.
This is on a 2016 Civic Touring CVT with a +6psi High octane base map.
heres a link to the log under ECON

and in regular drive

if you need more just let me know. Tried to upload these directly but couldn't exactly figure that one out.

Re: 2016 civic EXT cruise control unable to achieve stable speed
I had to flash back to stock. I drive 100 miles several nights a week and this is way too annoying to deal with or be without cruise control.
If this gets patched lemmie know.
Cheers

Same thing happening here. Does not like hills. The speed drops way down, then turbo boost kicks in and gives me +10mph in 2 seconds.
My theory is that something to do with launch control, because I see this is an option for manual transmission cars. Possibly this is setting some type of launch with the cruise control button, because it feels like I’m being launched.
In any case, I need my cruise control! This one guy got pissed my car slowed down so much, I went to the slow lane same time he did, then he got really mad and tried to race me, but he got smoked with the +6 93 octane boost lol haha. But really, can you fix this Hondata, I asked my tuner and he just told me to unplug the battery because the car has to be “taught” again. That doesn’t work at all.

Cruise control has trouble on hills if you disable rev hang. We are working on a fix. In the meantime if you use cruise control, switch off rev hang.

Any update on this? Yesterday I did setup on my 2021 Civic CVT (2016+) and experiencing the same problem. Cruise control cannot maintain stable speed. Especially if radar detects car in front and tries to follow it .
Re: 2016 civic EXT cruise control unable to achieve stable speed
Fixed in V3.4.1 (10 July 2019)
