cam question: will this work?

On another forum I was told that a zex cam from a d16z6 would fit in a d16y8 is this true?

Yes ... physically it will fit but the cam timing will be off due to the differences in the cam gear slot on the cam itself between the z6 and y8.

so will a adj cam gear fix this? and should I use one from a z6 or a y8? I already have one from a z6 (aem) will this work?

Yes ... either one will fit. The y8 adj. cam gear will have to be adjusted for a z6 cam whereas the z6 cam gear will be set at zero. It will be just the opposite with a y8 cam.
