analog inputs resolution

Post by Pablo »

Can someone confirm that v3 analog inputs are 10 bit resolution and v4 are 12 bit resolution?
Cannot find nothing mentioning this in the release notes of the kpro v4.

Version 4 is 16 bit and I do not have the information for the v3. The person that handles the hardware is on vacation.

Would be nice to know, at least to know if there's any difference between versions, in my findings I can see that v4 is more precise.
Anyway, I think that if this is the case, this could be mentioned in the release notes since sensor readings are more precise.

There are all 10 bit resolution. Analog filtering and power supply noise makes much more difference than the converter resolution.

that´s really confusing, I can really see that the value sent from kpro to kmanager in v3 is from 0 to 1024 meanwhile in v4 goes from 0 to 4096.
Also with the same temperature sensor I can see that in v4 is more precise.

Yes, you are correct. The KPro3 is 10 bit and the KPro3 is 12 bit. Also the KPro4 oversamples and averages values.
