K24a2 swap with AC possible?

Post by KMR2 »

So I have a k24a2 swap MR2 using Kpro V4. I have the 1 wire trigger from the chassis that I could trigger the AC compressor but that bypasses the ECU and thus doesn't idle up when AC is running. I see the Kpro V4 has an alternate AC trigger input but it uses the VTP for AC input. Question is, don't I need the VTP for vtec to work? How can I wire the AC input to the ECU and have that control the AC compressor without losing vtec.

From hondata misc parameter help page:

Air Conditioning Switch Input
Normally the AC on signal is sent to the ECU via the multiplex communication bus. For vehicles which do not have the multiplexer, such as the S2000, it is possible to use the VTP input as an alternate AC switch input. Note that the multiplexer and VTEC pressure check should both be disabled. The normal ECU AC clutch output is used.

Thanks

VTP is not needed for VTEC. Disable VTP and multiplexor. Ground VTP to activate the AC compressor output.
