b18 turbo setup- dies after it hits rev limiter
I've had this setup for quite a while. I got it back on the road after a few months. Broken intermediate shaft etc.
Anyway I uploaded the new hondata firmware/software and went for a drive. If I hit the rev limiter in any gear, the RPMS fall on its face almost like a boost cut, then it gives me a random rev limit like (2000RPM or 4000RPM) for 20 seconds or so then it goes back to normal.
I can do full pulls in 3rd, 4th etc and there is absolutely no issues.
I did a datalog to take a look at whats happening and as soon as I hit the rev limiter in third, it reads 35000RPM, MAP pressure reads 862 PSI, coolant temp reads 239, it says I'm in 58th gear. Very odd... not sure whats going on.
Its a non-vtec b18, sleeved, pnp head, crower 404s, RC1000s, precision 61mm turbo in a 89EF hatch. OBD0 to OBD1 conversion harness.
Im on hondata version 2.7.8.0.
The datalog frame right before this photo shows everything absolutely normal. This here is exactly after I hit the rev limit 1 time.

Re: b18 turbo setup- dies after it hits rev limiter
Please see attached. The photos and the datalog are specific to 1st gear rev limiter, but I've experienced it anytime it spins and hits the limiter, 1st and 2nd gear typically.
The photos are from 20mins 38secs of the datalog I uploaded.
Thank you in advance!

You appear to be using secondary tables in the datalog. The calibration you have posted does not have them enabled.

It's a straight LS setup... never used secondary tables before...
Not sure why the datalog is showing them

Re: b18 turbo setup- dies after it hits rev limiter
It is showing them because you appear to have them enabled on the calibration running the vehicle.

Re: b18 turbo setup- dies after it hits rev limiter
I was definitely live tuning with this calibration that I uploaded.
Should I delete the calibration from the s300 then do a re-upload?
Not sure what else to try.

I would recommend re-uploading and make sure that you do not have secondary tables enabled.

Re: b18 turbo setup- dies after it hits rev limiter
I uploaded a calibration from 2+ years ago that worked fine. Only change since then is the version of software/firmware.
Still doing the same thing, there is no secondary tables enabled.
Here is the calibration and the short datalog.
1st gear pull, hits rev limiter and goes limp you can see it on the datalog flat line.
From there it has a fake rev limit it made. You can see it from 12.5 to 15 seconds or so then it disappears.
Any other ideas/suggestions?

Is J12 cut on the ECU?
Have the capacitors been replaced on the ECU?
