What negative consequences will result if I mate an 04 RSX Hondata loaded ECU with an 06 TSX Long Block and TSX Transmission?

To have a tunable Kpro I have to pretend that my motor and Transmission are an RSX. I understand that.

So, as far as I undertand it... I wrap an 06 TSX Engine and Tranny in an 04 Wiring Harness with an 04/earlier ECU, and........ will it work?

Help me understand, Why can't I use the TSX Manual transmission? What do I lose?

All this would be going into a Kit car with an aftermarket electronic dash.

I believe that the TSX transmission uses a countershaft speed sensor.

and this is what I have to work with as of today:

An ECU Part number: 37820-PNF-A12 (02 to 04 Civic SI)

06 TSX Long block.

06 RSX Type S Complete Swap with an 04 ECU from a CIVIC SI. k20ZR1 1007191 stamped on the block.

Now I am trying to put them together to make a NA power plant that will eventually (12 to 18months) be supercharged.

hey you wanna sell me the manifold and throttle body off the 06 TSX block? They're no use to most swaps anyways cause of the electronic throttle.

email me jamesr79(at)juno.com

Thankyou for the response Spunkster. A TSX transmission is definitly out.

However, I have been studying and I have a couple of questions.

I am pasting this quote from one of your tech pages:

Quote:
The 05-06 K-Pro is only certified to work in an 05/06 RSX. Engine swaps using an 05-06 RSX engine and gearbox into another chassis are not supported with the 05/06 K-Pro and adapter harness.

You now understand what I am trying to build. It is not "another Honda Chassi". Cruise control isn't in the picture. =) Could I make an 05/06 RSX Engine and Tranny work in a Kit car like the Superlite-Roadster with an ECU converted to work with the different sensors, and the appropriate 02 Sensor? I have a qualifying ECU already.

Also, if your answer is yes.. then the quote below from the tech pages must only apply to swaps that do not have an 04 ECU modified to serve an 05/06 Engine/gear box. Is that correct?

Quote:
Any K-series engine can be used with K-Pro in an engine swap. But the transmission will need to be from an 02-04. Using an 05-06 transmission will mean that the speedometer will not work, and vtec will not engage.

Or, your answer could be "No" to my particular circumstances and "Yes" to someone who actually has the car wrapped around the 05/06 hardware.

To have everything work properly you should use an 02-04 RSX Type S engine harness, an 02-04 Type S transmission, and an 02-04 RSX primary o2 sensor.

The 05-06 kit we offer is ONLY for 05-06 RSX vehicles, not engine swaps with a engine from an 05-06.

Thank you for confirming that. Okay. So you are telling me that there is no way I can use a Kpro with an 06 RSX Transmission, 06 Wiring Harness, etc. UNLESS I want to put it into an actual RSX Car body.

Can you help me understand why not? Why does an RSX Car body make it work.
Why can't the same thing be put into a kitcar?
