Cranny can you please check datalog

Post by remus »

2004 tsx empty cat 45 degree vtc all rest is stock.
I got a friend to tune it for me. I am not sure about it and vtec is set at 3800 rpm a bit low for the delay in power I find.

yeah keep him away , say thanks but no thanks , lol.

load this on , do another long datalog like that but make sure its in open loop buddy. do another WOT pull like that , 2000 rpm to redline 7500 , 3rd gear. it needs part throttle tuning. ive changed quite a bit here so , its gonna feel alot different. relay to me how it feels.

Cranny here is the first datalog.

I find the car moves better a lower rpm to move in and out of traffic.
But I feel it lacks of the punch I had between 5000 and 7600 rpm.
I had also 9 knock counts. I would like to thank you for taking the time to help me.

Remus,

Not to get in the way of your tuning but our cars have very similar mods and I've put a fair bit of work and fine tuning into my calibration.. You may want to try it and see how it works for you. It may save some time..

Street tuned using Theta Dyno, so no numbers.

Not sure if your familiar with Theta Dyno but it graphs your power curves similar to a normal dyno based on your runs at each cam angle. I have power curve pics I can share.

The K24 needs less cam angle as the revs climb. I've tuned closed loop as well because the K24a2 calibrations included with kpro are all very rich.

Did you try it? Curious as to how it feels for you.

2nd datalog

Post by remus »

Cranny,
here is the second data log. The car felt the same if not a little slower to lunch itself in the upper rpm band, no knocks where recorded.
Whats next ? On a side note should I download the 1.3.9 beta version as i am running off the older version?

always keep the newest version yes.

made a couple changes to the cam angles. see if it feels any better to you. your fuel is pretty good , part throttle and WOT.

Cranny,

Curious as to why your choosing such high cam angles in the upper RPM range?

well its not like were doing this on a dyno , so im just feeling it out based on his feedback buddy , thats all. ive seen a few k24 hybrids that love 30cam all the way almost so. for no other reason buddy. if he says it doesnt feel as good again , ill drop it down a notch lower than before , try again.
