First time with s300, setting up boost by gear

Post by kmaz93da »

what method should i pick? why?
-fixed duty cycle
-gear base duty cycle
-gear base target boost

im running gsr turbo 430hp, on 225dr for the street, like low boost to have 10psi in 1st and part 2nd, than up to 16psi to end of 3rd and 18psi in 4th..

can anyone give me good guidline or show me their graph that i can go off of? thanks

Initially set it up on fixed duty cycle and figure out what duty cycles equal what boost levels. After you are done doing that, then build the duty cycle/boost lookup table or just use gear vs. duty cycle and fill in the table..

One further question.

If you have a 10psi spring on the WG, can you still ask the solenoid to give me for instance 8psi at 1st gear, then 11psi en 2nd gear and so on?

Or one has to start at the level of the WG spring rate?

i found that if u use a ebay 4psi spring
u can set boost and pressure the same

5.0 10.0 15.0 20.0 25.0 30.0 35.0 40.0
5.0 10.0 15.0 20.0 25.0 30.0 35.0 40.0

this is with a gm boost solinoid

Thanks for posting that. This guy I was tuning last night had a 12psi spring, had other issues that negated me from doing a boost by gear set up before time was over. So I left it via fixed duty cycle 29%.
Using a Holset HY35 turbo that yielded me 19.2psi tapering to 17.8psi
