Would the re-flash cure the 2007 JDM FD2R ECU recall issue?

Post by romeochris »

My friend has the batch of 2007 FD2R with got some recall issue on the ECU, but he hasnt got it fixed since the car has been exported to HK since 2007. Just wonder would the re-flash(remapping) can cure this issue? Thx!

Probably. You'd need to find out the calibration ID of the vehicles which are recalled, and then the calibration ID of the replacement ECU calibration.

Let say, if he uses a FP to Lock his car, flash the ECU with Hondata re-flash profile, then Unlock it (RTS). The "factory calibration" goes to his ECU is the 2007 OEM one (before recall) or the "after recall" profile goes to his ECU? Thx

Some scan tools will tell you the calibration ID.
