Another R136 & R138 resistor ELD question

Post by picnic_george »

I don't fully know what these 2 resistors do. But they are still in place in this ECU. Max lean is reading about 4.5v and max rich is reading 1.31v. It goes to 1.31 volts at about 11.7:1 afr and stays there til the gauge is buried. Does this sound like the culprit? If they are adding or pulling voltage wouldn't it just be an offset issue which obviously isn't the case here?
I've had this issue before and never found the answer on another car, tried regrounding the WB in numerous different places with no change.

I assume I can just clip one side of both resistors and call it good as well.

Been searching with no real answer as to symptoms of what happens when those resistors cause a problem.

Thanks

Try cutting the resistors and see if that resolves the issue. Cutting them will not cause any issues.

I'm going to do it anyways. I was just hoping to hear this was a symptom of those resistors doing something funny :)

Apparently the resistors resist something. Cut those bad boys out and it was as simple as it gets.
