2008 TSX is sluggish

Post by oneifbysea »

Guys, just a simple question if you can bear it? I have a 2008 TSX which is sluggish and I would like to upgrade the engine management software so I get more performance (and maybe less gas mileage) without any after-market hardware changes. Can you suggest a software update that is appropriate for improved performance with all of the standard factory hardware?

Hondata has the FlashPro for the TSX

The K24 engine in the TSX makes reasonable gains through ECU tuning, but it is no silver bullet if something else is wrong. Gas mileage doesn't change with the FlashPro.

You could also find a dealer who can do a reflash for you, which would be about half the cost of a FlashPro.

Thanks. I talked to PSI Imports and they said there was 4 Flashs. One was a factory reflash and three upgrade flashes. Since I am not changing any hardware on the 2008 TSX, no new pipes, no new intake, etc., which of the four reflashes is best for me for eliminating the sluggish response? My understanding is that the TSX was originally factroy tuned for maxiumum gas mileage which I do not care about. I only want the car to run smoothly with good acceleration. I am not looking for a supped up racer.

Most vehicles from the factory are tuned for both maximum fuel economy and power (they are not mutually exclusive), but in the case of the 07-08 TSX there are gains from just ECU tuning. I believe that on a totally stock engine you'll need some tuning as there are only calibrations for a cold air intake. It would be best to talk further with PSI Import Tuning about what would be best.
