Different IAT sensors?

Post by daveG »

Is it possible for the S300 to support different IAT sensors? I am looking to run a GM IAT sensor because it has a 3/8" NPT thread connection on it. Any idea how difficult it would be to do this?

This is not something we are considering.

It would be possible to run the different IAT sensor and get it to adjust the fuel though, correct? The intake temp values just wouldn't be correct.

Any reason you're not looking into this? I don't trust the stock Honda sensor that pushes into the tubing with a grommet on a boosted car.

You may want to consider the more common Honda IAT that uses 2 screws to hold it in place..

If your concern is the IAT sensor coming out under boost then use the OBDI sensor which is electrically the same as the K Series IAT sensor.

If you work out the area of the sensor and then measure the force taken to pull it out then you can tell if it will come out under boost.
