Sounds good. That one looks really good, so we're on the right track. Since you're down to go through each cam angle, this next one will be the 0* cam angle with vtec at 4600. The 0* cam is really boring to drive on, so don't get discouraged, it's just the starting point for moving forward. Take this one for a drive when you can, 20 (ish) minutes in length with one third gear WOT pull.

Looks pretty good. I made a few changes based on the data. Now we move to the 15* cam angle with vtec at 4600 again. Take this one for the same type of datalog and driving style.

Hey EFICU,

I'll have you the datalog tomorrow. Try to have it to you sometime in the AM. Thanks again for everything! Let me know if you need me to do anything else.

15 degree cam angle datalog with WOT pull... This one was a little fun, had to take advantage of the extra power. LOL

Yeah it's funny how much of a difference it makes going from the 0 to 15 cam. We will now move to the 30* cam angle with vtec at 5500. This one will feel stronger in the midrange, but fall off a lot up top. 30* is too much for anything except that midrange WOT area, but we want to see how much of it the engine wants to build the cam angle map. Take this one for the same type of drive and datalog.

Looks pretty good. This will be the last locked one, still the 30* cam with vtec now at 4000. Take this one for a spin when you can, same datalog and driving style.

Here is the 30 degree, 4000 VTEC datalog. There was noticibly more knock in this one. Maybe due to the VTEC change I'm guessing. I went for a little longer on the log as well so we can get a little more data.

Yeah the knock is happening right at 4000 on the vtec crossover which we hadn't tuned for yet. Just another reason why we tune all over when we do it properly. Overall it's looking good, I am watching the leaner fuel trims at idle as well, I have another guy with a similar issue right now that makes no sense. But we will see how it looks in this next one.

So I blended out the cam angle map again. I did see a few areas that are different from the original tune. Take this one for a drive and see what you think. It looks like it wants a little more cam angle at part throttle, so see how the part throttle feels. And I changed the high cam angle mapping slight too based on the data, so how the WOT feels. It might take a revision or two to smooth things out, but see how the general impression feels on this one with it all blended. Vtec looks happy again at 4600 even with the new data.

Can't wait to test this one out! :D

I'll send you a datalog tonight if something doesn't feel right. Otherwise, if you think it should be safe to drive, I'd rather send you a couple of longer datalogs with my drive to/from work tomorrow. The longer datalogs, a little over an hour, will need to be cut to fit within the 10MB file limit. So, I would just cut out the beginning and end until it fits or until I see some needed data samples being removed from the data.

Thanks again for EVERYTHING!! I'll let you know when I test it out, how it feels. It looks good as far as I can tell. If there is any specific things I can do during datalogging that will help us get the best/most accurate data, let me know!

Yeah if you take it out tonight, just make a normal datalog so I can clean up any chunks or smooth anything out. I don't see any big chunks happening, just some smoothing once you blend the tables as it transitions through cam angles it's all smooth fueling wise.

And you can do the longer datalogs no problem. You can email me the larger ones so you don't have to worry about size limits if you want. Well granted the email app allows them, but however you want to do it. When you cut and trim datalogs, you're also trimming data averages. So if you want to do longer datalogs, you should send them in full size. Trimmed datalogs end up just being like a shorter drive.

It all looks great. I am becoming curious as to why the idle fuel trims are going positive when they weren't in our first handful of revisions. Nothing unsafe, but technically not ideal nor does is satisfy my OCD with this stuff. Now that two of the cars I'm working on are doing it, it's making me really wonder what is causing it. We'll see how the next one looks.
