2014 Civic Si Temporary Tune Help

Post by awal2022 »

Hello everyone!

I’m new here but I figured this would be the best place to find help with a temporary tune setup :) I have a 2014 Civic Si with a used engine with 40k miles on the way since I blew up my last one mysteriously lol once I have the engine I’m going to have a friend of mine help me instal it along with the following upgrades: 3.5” Skunk2 CAI, RBC Intake Manifold with adapter kit, 3” K-Tuned Header without catalytic converters and Muffler Delete. Just need a temporary tune to help me drive it to the nearest dyno.

Thanks!

So it actually is drivable with the bolt ons but I notice I hit 0-60 slower. Use to hit it at either the end of 2nd gear or beginning of 3rd and now I’m hitting it in the middle of 3rd gear. Obviously a tune will help with that. I’m also getting the codes p0172 and p0420. P0172 is a code I got after installing the CAI earlier this year. I think tuning the MAF will help this. But p0420 will be trickier… it is the result of there no longer being cats since I put a cat less k-tuned header in. My o2’s are freaking out saying there’s no cats haha so what’s the best way to fix this issue? O2 spacers, emulated o2 sensors or a tune?

Unless this is a dedicated race car that is not ever driven on the street, you should have the CAT installed. The P0420 cannot be disabled.

Where I live I can drive on the street without cats. Also learned I can fix my issue by either using o2 spacers or disabling the post cat o2 sensor.
