Programmable ECU for the J-series Motors

Post by drzchulo147 »

Im pretty sure that hondata have received request for this product but I just wanted to post my personal insight. Ive have seen a huge growing numbers in people doing J-series swaps in civics, integras etc.. for the stock power (240hp J30a4) and the reliability. Currently they're only piggybacks for the ECU which arent so dependable. Hondata would profit a lot if they produced a standalone programmable ECU. What do you guys think?

I'm sorry, but there are currently no plans for V6 engine swaps.

Yes I realize that but if its not too much trouble can you explain why there isnt plans or anything. Ive read on so many v6 forums that they would LOVE for you guys to develop a programmable ecu for the j-series engines. The demand is definitely there..

The quick answer is that it takes a long time and costs a lot of money to develop an ECU solution, and there would never be a pay off for J-Series. To give you an idea of the work invovled, we started work on the 06 Civic in October 2005, and released something in June 2009. If
