Re: Tuning and Elevation

Ok, Power stroke is independent of the friction losses and exhaust back pressure.

No change in ideal ignition timing.

Re: Tuning and Elevation

Within the limits of elevation change, the difference in back pressure isn't huge, and IF there is a difference in ideal timing, it would probably be a few percent, or even fractions of a percent. That is only a guess, but it's based on the fact that the BMEP is so much higher than the ambient press...

Re: Tuning and Elevation

I completely understand how the ECU controls the timing and fuel based on the manifold pressure. I understand the columns in the tables represent the manifold pressure. I understand that the maximum pressure one can get in the manifold is whatever the pressure of the atmosphere is at any location. I...

Tuning and Elevation

I know that elevation affects max power output, but does it affect the ideal ignition timing and fuel maps, part throttle and all? You tune an engine to run correctly based on the manifold pressure. If you're on another planet where the atmospheric pressure was twice as high, WOT would be the equiva...

Knock Control

The Flashpro help file describes knock control as the way the ECU has determined the fuel octane you use. 0% Knock control means you're using 100 octane 100% Knock control means you're using 90 octane In a perfect world, people running 93 octane will see 70% for this value. Normally aspiriated If th...

Re: Question about returning to stock

If I had to guess, I would say the factory tunes are AFM.

If this is the case, the factory tune is generic... and they answered the question.

Re: !!!!!!!!!!!!!! This is for Hondata !!!!!

Depends how you bought it. I bought mine on Ebay. It was advertised as "unlocked from vehicle". Buyer protection states item must be received as advertised. Buyer protection. If you went through craigslist or a forum, I'm not sure what you can do that wouldn't cost more than another flashp...

A/C Air conditioner does not work in AFM mode

2009 Civic Si - 2.0L Hondata Flashpro holds two presets. I set mine up as follows. Preset 1 - AFM tune Preset 2 - MAP tune When I upload the MAP tune, the oil life goes to 100% and the AC works. When I switch to AFM tune, the oil life goes to 0% and the AC compressor won't turn on. I reset the oil l...
