Re: What exactly does tplate % represent in datalogs?

The last few posts are making me nervous. Does the new functionality change the way a prior tune will load, if it has a customized throttle map? If so, that will shut down my eTuning business. If you're relying on a previous custom throttle map loading, I would say be careful before moving to the n...

Re: What exactly does tplate % represent in datalogs?

SlowTeg, do you mind sharing how you tuned your throttle tables? I didn't do anything fancy honestly. I did it at midnight the night before my track day Sunday so I didn't spend a whole lot of time on it. I forget what multiplier I used, something like just a .8 multiplier for many of the columns, ...

Re: What exactly does tplate % represent in datalogs?

I tried out the new FW at the track this weekend and just wanted to say thanks to Hondata. The throttle is much more linear and how I've always expected/wanted it to be.

Re: What exactly does tplate % represent in datalogs?

So you couldn't get the parameters to save with any map? The smaller lookup table looks to save, but I didn't try the larger "main" table. I wanted to try it out this weekend but better not to try messing with it in case there's some other strange operation. Maybe I'll load a map on and try it out.....

Re: What exactly does tplate % represent in datalogs?

I saw there's a Beta release that includes the throttle changes for the S. Just wanted to give folks a heads up and say thanks to Hondata!

Just a reminder that some of us are eagerly awaiting this release. It'd be great if I could give it a try at my next track day may 15th. I know things take time, but just a friendly reminder. No rush.. :D

Re: What exactly does tplate % represent in datalogs?

Is it also possible, to calibrate the throttle dependent by the vehicle speed on a FN2? Thats would be nice and better for city driving! From hondata's post above: "The S2000 is the only vehicle we've seen using the additional index table. The US 06 Si and FN2 don't use that table" So the answer is...

Re: What exactly does tplate % represent in datalogs?

You are aware that interpolation is used? The factory table is linear, so could be replaced with two columns without loosing resolution. Release probably will be next week. Great to hear on the quick release! Yes I'm aware interpolation is used, but the non-linear nature of the throttle pedal as th...

Re: What exactly does tplate % represent in datalogs?

Both the value and index has been changed for the main throttle table. Yes, the speed values are kph. Any idea when we'll see the update released for the s2000? I know many people would probably be very interested in this update (they just aren't fully aware of it yet)! Given the scaling of the thr...

Re: What exactly does tplate % represent in datalogs?

Gotcha, I understood how it worked from your previous explanation and that makes sense. The interesting difference/note however is that how come your throttle table has indexes over 100%, whereas mine (and others) tops out at 100%? Column 11 is 66.7 on my throttle table, but it's 96 on yours. Was th...

Re: What exactly does tplate % represent in datalogs?

It is because the index to the throttle table is not throttle pedal; it is a value calculated from a previous table indexed by speed and throttle pedal. Based on what I've observed, the "odd" behavior isn't an issue with an index/parameter to the table affecting the ultimate TP %, but rather the ta...

Re: 'Out of date' error message

This behavior is not our choice, but unfortunately a necessity. We are going to change this so that you get a warning (at least a month) before needing to update. Also we will extend the application 'lifetime'. How is this not your choice..? Why does the application need to check every time it open...

Re: What exactly does tplate % represent in datalogs?

There is an additional table (indexed by vehicle speed) that modifies the throttle pedal value for use as an index for the main throttle table. We'll add that table for the next release. Very interesting, thanks! Hopefully this can help part throttle resolution when on track for folks. With some fu...

'Out of date' error message

It looks like the current version of FP Manager makes a check w/ hondata on startup (query's your server or something), and if you don't have an internet connection you're stuck with the "Out of date" message. Very irritating if you aren't someplace with wifi for your laptop. Can you guys fix this? ...

Re: What exactly does tplate % represent in datalogs?

Thanks, I appreciate the more "thorough" response. So basically you're saying the unexpected tplate opening is a feature not a bug, gotcha. ;) On the bright side I reflashed the car with a stock throttle map and I'm back to hitting 100% on the tplate %, so that's good in that it seems limited to the...
