Re: lean tip-in

Yeah, the oxygen sensor would show a misfire as a lean spike but check the last 2 datalogs I posted at further up in the RPM range around 2500-3000RPM. There the ignition timing doesn't drop to 0 but gets close to 10 or so. Still the same thing with the AFR. I guess it's still a lot lower than comma...

Re: lean tip-in

Looking at the timestamps, the lean dip lasts for about 300 to 400ms. Isn't that well within reason of tip-in enrichment or X Tau (wall wetting) settings?

So Hondata, how does Honda do tip-in enrichment? Most ECUs add extra fuel based on rate of TPS change or MAP change.

Re: lean tip-in

Oh, so you're saying this is not a software issue. I was hoping analysis of datalogs would help steer me towards what to check. But you basically just threw the book at me and said it could be any one of those things. Cam timing? Really? Can any of those causes be eliminated by examination of the da...

Re: lean tip-in

I see. What do you recommend? Only modification is a 70mm TP. I've attached my calibration.

lean tip-in

I'm getting a sharp lean spike just after tip-in. It is very noticeable. I couldn't find a tip-in enrichment to adjust. How do I fix this?

Thanks.

Re: Knock Control % - not going to 0 after reflash

Oh, then it's just me being impatient. I've made one revision per day for the past few days and I'm probably just not giving it enough time to learn down to 0%. I wish there was a way to set the initial value to 0 so changes to timing maps can be checked immediately after a reflash.

Knock Control % - not going to 0 after reflash

It seems that my knock control % is perpetually stuck at 55% even after I upload a new calibration. How do I reset it to 0?

Re: ignition timing during off throttle decel

OK, got my FlashPro and datalogged what I'm talking about. You can see both the injectors coming on and the ignition timing shooting up once you come out of overrun mode.

Re: ignition timing during off throttle decel

It's a completely stock calibration. I haven't received my Hondata yet but I'm logging timing through an OBD2 logger. Both the injector turning on and ramp up in timing occur the moment the throttle pedal is increased enough to come out of decel mode when above the fuel cut RPM. Injectors turn on an...

ignition timing during off throttle decel

Can you guys expose this table? I noticed a rough transition in my car is due to a rapid change in ignition timing between on and off throttle. When deceling off throttle, the timing drops down to about 23 degrees but applying very light throttle just enough to make it come out of 'idle mode' makes ...

Re: low RPM hesitation and rough tip-in enrichment

I haven't received my FlashPro yet but thought I would do some homework in the meantime. I opened up a ROM (stock?) I found on here in FPM and analyzed the timing maps. I copied them into Excel, added the Main Ignition to the Knock Ignition Limit maps, then took the minimum between it and the Main I...

Re: FlashPro Requests

A couple of really great features IMHO would be: * the ability to cut out a section in the middle of a datalog. For example, if you select a section in the middle with the mouse, instead of always zooming in on that section, have a mode where it asks if you want to delete the selected part of the d...

Help file clarification - Throttle tip in retard

Throttle tip in retard This table determines the degree of ignition retard upon throttle tip in, set by gear. A lower value is less retard, a higher value is more retard. Let's say the base ignition map calls for 20 degrees at a given load/rpm where we are tipping in throttle. What will be the resu...
